Pastor: Mike Knapp
(Adapted from a recent press release…) Mike Knapp serves as interim Pastor at Hope Community Church. He typically wears jeans on Sunday and plays the electric guitar! The church at 428 Union Street had been without a pastor since the end of May. Pastor Mike was asked to fill in as interim pastor starting in October. He has worked in ministry for over 25 years.
“Churches in transition offer a golden opportunity for those willing to give church a ‘second chance’. Everyone needs a second chance. These days many feel ‘burnt’ by the church, and many have given up on organized religion,” offers Pastor Mike. His goal is to create a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere where people can “test-drive” church and connect with God.
Pastor Mike said, “Jesus didn’t come to this world to burden us with more rules; He came to seek and save the lost. We all feel ‘lost’ or far from God sometimes. That’s His message — just come as you are.” At Hope we find that a casual environment and a simple message style make it easier for people to get in touch with God.
